Turkey. Sweet Potatoes. Stuffing. Cauliflower Au Gratin. Gingerbread men. Apple Pie. Whatever your favorite holiday food is, no holiday celebration would be complete without it. And whatever you are cooking up this holiday season, food safety is a must!
Food is a big part of every holiday celebration and the Partnership for Food Safety Education wants to hear real stories about your home food-safe celebration!
Submit a “My Food-Safe Holiday” video entry and you could become a food safety star!
What should the video be about?
Create a video that is 2 minutes or less*about how your family prepares a safe, fun, easy, tasty Holiday meal! Do you have a favorite holiday tradition? A recipe passed on from generation to generation? A community potluck event? Entertain us with a short story of your food traditions, your safe food handling and the magic you put into your holiday!
You must incorporate at least two of the four core safe food handling practices (clean, separate, cook chill) into your video. Encourage your family, friends and neighbors to participate!
* videos longer than two minutes won’t be eligible to win
But I don’t have fancy video equipment.
That’s not necessary. Anyone can produce a video! You do not even need a video camera – your digital camera’s video setting will do the trick! Check out these video tips from YouTube.
What are the prizes?
