Preventing foodborne illness is a major public health challenge. By bringing together all segments of the food industry, public interest organizations and federal regulatory agencies, the Partnership is uniquely poised to address this challenge. By working with the Partnership for Food Safety Education, your organization can assume a leadership role in reducing the incidence of foodborne illness among Americans nationwide. Fight BAC!® is a far-reaching, consumer- and teacher-friendly public education campaign sponsored by the Partnership for Food Safety Education. Our goal is to teach consumers the four simple practices -- clean, separate, cook and chill -- that can help them fight fight foodborne bacteria (BAC!) and reduce their risk of becoming sick. Fight BAC!® was created in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services -- Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. BAC!, the campaign's "bacteria mascot," is the invisible enemy who tries his best to spread contamination wherever he goes. Giving foodborne bacteria a "personality" makes learning about the subject easier and more memorable for kids and adults alike. Fight BAC!® has reached millions of consumers. Fight BAC!® materials are all online, where they are accessed and used by consumers, teachers, dieticians, retailers, public health officials and extension agents across the United States.
