Be Food Safe from USDA and the Partnership Print

Be Food Safe logoThe Partnership for Food Safety Education enters its 10th Anniversary with launch of a special collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection service (FSIS) to promote Be Food Safe, a new outreach program built around the four core Fight BAC!® safe food handling messages of Clean, Separate, Cook and Chill.

Be Food Safe was developed to provide important information to caregivers on the importance of safe food handing in reducing the possibility of foodborne illness to the at-risk individuals they care for.

Be Food Safe is premised on consumer research that shows that Americans are aware of food safety, but they need more information to achieve and maintain safe food handling behaviors.  Be Food Safe builds on the successful, long-standing Fight BAC! four messages of Clean, Separate, Cook and Chill.

Watch this space for Be Food Safe tools you can use to raise the level of public awareness of the dangers associated with improper handling and undercooking of food.

The Partnership for Food Safety Education is looking for pace-setting food and consumer product companies and leading retailers interested in participating in large-scale Be Food Safe consumer promotions in 2008.  Download the retail Be Food Safe sell sheet here.
