BAC Fighter Ambassadors use their unique talents, networks, and skills to build connections between professionals in their field that work to prevent foodborne illness. Each Ambassador serves a 2-year term and acts as a representative of the Partnership to BAC Fighters in their career field.

Elizabeth Brewer is a High School Teacher from Opelika, AL who draws from years of quality experience to promote life-long knowledge in food safety. She knows education makes a difference and has a passion for teaching consumers of all ages. She loves the Safe Recipe Style Guide and PFSE’s commitment to always being based on scientific principles.

Adam Friedlander
Food Scientist

Adam Friedlander is a Food Scientist from Washington, DC who is passionate about bringing communities together to keep all people safe when eating. He hopes to create open dialogue, based on science, to understand how food safety impacts our daily routines. He values PFSE’s relationship with BAC Fighters to empower consumers to focus on the basics: Clean, Cook, Separate and Chill.

Lisa Peterson
Nutrition & Wellness Educator

Lisa Peterson is a nutrition and wellness extension educator from Hillsboro, IL who considers herself a creative person. She is motivated to get people of all ages back in the kitchen preparing safe, healthy and delicious foods. She writes, blogs, and tweets and loves PFSE’s ongoing professional development opportunities and webinars.

Sheridan Saskowski is an environmental health specialist from Davenport, IA who is passionate about food safety and educating communities about how to keep their families and friends safe. She is interested in helping others understand the “why” behind food safety. She performs outreach to local high school culinary arts programs and particularly enjoys the Partnership’s school age materials.

TaQuila Thomas is a family and consumer sciences teacher from Macon, Georgia who considers herself a relationship builder. She’s interested in foodborne illness and promoting good health to prevent heart disease. She says “I love BAC! He sits in my classroom!” She looks forward to “speaking to people from all walks of life” to promote food safety.

Atalie Tompkins

Atalie Tompkins is Nutrition & Health Educator from Abilene, KS who sees a need to remind people about food safety, so all are practicing – and teaching younger generations – food safe practices. She is a passionate educator to all ages and values the latest information. She enjoys working with and learning from others, and treasures PFSE’s printable resources she can incorporate in her lessons.

Jody Vogelzang

Jody Vogelzang is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist from Grand Rapids, MI who is committed to food equity. She knows healthy and safe food should be attainable and accessible to all and works hard to demonstrate this in her community. Melissa Wyatt is a Family, Consumer, and Health Sciences Agent from Yuma, AZ who enjoys engaging community members in conversations about food safety. She is passionate about helping people find ways to better their health in a safe way. She always emphasizes food safety during food preservation and cooking classes and has used Fight BAC materials in her presentations and workshops.
